InnoV8 Botanics® conducts research and consulting in botanic and plant related fields.
InnoV8 Botanics® was founded in 2012 by Company Director and Principal Consultant, Dr Dion Harrison.
Dr Harrison is an experienced research scientist with expertise in plant molecular biology, breeding and genetics. He obtained a PhD from The University of Queensland (UQ) for his Sugarcane research. Then spent 11.5 yrs as a Research Fellow and Lecturer in Plant Science and Horticulture at UQ. Most noteworthy, Dr Harrison has authored >60 scientific and technical publications and supervised 6 PhD students to graduation.
Whilst at UQ, Dr Harrison’s research focused on Australian native plants and their potential for ornamental horticulture. As a result, Dr Harrison helped establish the spin-off company Aussie Colours® to enable the ongoing breeding and commercialisation of Australian native plant varieties.
In late 2012, Dr Harrison established InnoV8 Botanics® to offer his expertise to industry and the public. He continues to provide ongoing contract Plant Breeding and Commercialisation services to a range of clients including small business, private companies, Government Agencies and Universities.
